Service Description
Found a gemstone you are considering buying? I will meet you at an agreed location and examine the stone in person before you commit. The review includes an independent examination of the gemstone’s apparent quality and condition, consideration of any accompanying laboratory reports or seller information, and an opinion on whether the asking price appears reasonable in context. I will identify any potential concerns, unanswered questions or points that should be clarified before purchase. You will also have the opportunity to ask questions during the examination. This service provides an independent professional opinion to support your decision. It is not a formal valuation or laboratory report, and further testing may be recommended where appropriate.
Cancellation Policy
Each appointment is reserved specifically for you, and preparation may be carried out before the consultation. Payment Full payment is required at the time of booking. Your appointment is not confirmed until payment has been received. Consultation Format The consultation will usually take place online by video call unless another arrangement has been agreed in advance. Joining details will be provided after booking. Rescheduling Please provide at least 48 hours’ notice if you need to reschedule. One change of appointment may be made without charge, subject to availability. Cancellations Cancellations made more than 48 hours before the appointment may be refunded or rescheduled. Cancellations made within 24–48 hours may be rescheduled once but are not refundable. Cancellations made less than 24 hours before the appointment, or failure to attend without notice, are non-refundable. Late Arrival The consultation will still finish at the originally scheduled time. If you are more than 15 minutes late without contacting me, the appointment may be treated as missed. Technical Issues Please ensure that you have a stable internet connection and can access the agreed video-call platform. If a technical problem occurs on my side, the consultation will be rescheduled without additional charge. Scope of Advice The consultation provides independent professional guidance based on the information available. It is not a formal valuation, laboratory report or definitive gemmological identification. Right to Refuse Service Gemstone Detective reserves the right to refuse or cancel a booking where a request falls outside the scope of the service or where conduct is abusive or inappropriate. By booking, you confirm that you have read and accepted this policy.
