Independent Gemstone Sourcing Specialist in Sri Lanka

Buying Gemstones in Sri Lanka

Private, in-person support from an independent gemmologist who can accompany you when viewing sapphires and other gemstones.

Planning to buy sapphires or other gemstones in Sri Lanka?

If you would prefer not to navigate the market alone, I can accompany you to selected gemstone dealers, private offices or markets. I provide independent guidance while you compare stones, understand the information supplied and decide whether a purchase is right for you.

Support can begin before you travel and continue in person in Sri Lanka. It is tailored to your stage, whether you are still researching, ready to view stones or already considering a particular gemstone.

Private Gemstone Buying Support in Sri Lanka

An independent gemmologist by your side

For private buyers seeking knowledgeable, impartial support in Sri Lanka’s complex gemstone market.

I am a GIA Graduate Gemmologist based in Sri Lanka for part of each year. When arranged in advance, I can accompany private buyers to selected dealers, markets and private viewings, helping them compare gemstones, understand seller information and ask the questions that matter before committing.

Sri Lanka is one of the world’s most important gemstone-producing countries, but its markets are highly relationship-based and can be difficult for visitors to navigate. My role is to provide independent guidance, ask the questions that matter and help you make a considered decision without sales pressure.

How Private Buying Support Works

1. Begin with a £125 Buying Consultation to discuss your travel dates, preferred gemstone, budget and priorities.

2. Agree the accompanied support you need, with the arrangements, scope and fee confirmed before you proceed.

3. View and compare gemstones with me beside you, with independent guidance on apparent quality, treatments, documentation and asking prices in context.

4. Make your own final decision. I do not sell gemstones or accept commission from sellers.

A safer, smarter way to source exceptional gemstones in Sri Lanka

Lucy Wilson, UK

The Royal Blue sapphire Kim sourced is breath-taking, rich in colour, with a depth and brilliance I will treasure for years to come. And the hot pink sapphire… it’s just stunning.

Scott R, USA

Kim’s patience, attention to detail and clear explanations gave me confidence in Sri Lanka’s gem markets. I came home with gemstones I love—and the knowledge to buy more wisely.

Paul H, USA

As first time visitors to Sri Lanka, I can't see how we could have done this without Kim's expertise and contacts.
Highly recommended!
