Service Description
This is the first step in working together. In this focused session, we define exactly what you want to achieve, whether you are planning to buy a gemstone while travelling, searching for a specific stone, commissioning jewellery, or simply want to understand how to purchase safely and ethically. We will cover: ✔ Your goals, preferences, and budget ✔ Where and how to buy ✔ The level of support that best suits you ✔ Timescales and travel plans (if relevant) ✔ How to avoid mishaps and buy with confidence You will leave with a clear, personalised strategy and a professional recommendation for the most appropriate next step; from Buyer Protection or an Independent Stone Assessment to an Accompanied Buying day or Remote Sourcing. This session ensures that any time we spend together in person is focused, efficient, and tailored entirely to you. Duration: 30-45 minutes Format: Online Fee: £125 (payable at the time of booking)
Cancellation Policy
Each appointment is reserved specifically for you, and preparation may be carried out before the consultation. Payment Full payment is required at the time of booking. Your appointment is not confirmed until payment has been received. Consultation Format The consultation will usually take place online by video call unless another arrangement has been agreed in advance. Joining details will be provided after booking. Rescheduling Please provide at least 48 hours’ notice if you need to reschedule. One change of appointment may be made without charge, subject to availability. Cancellations Cancellations made more than 48 hours before the appointment may be refunded or rescheduled. Cancellations made within 24–48 hours may be rescheduled once but are not refundable. Cancellations made less than 24 hours before the appointment, or failure to attend without notice, are non-refundable. Late Arrival The consultation will still finish at the originally scheduled time. If you are more than 15 minutes late without contacting me, the appointment may be treated as missed. Technical Issues Please ensure that you have a stable internet connection and can access the agreed video-call platform. If a technical problem occurs on my side, the consultation will be rescheduled without additional charge. Scope of Advice The consultation provides independent professional guidance based on the information available. It is not a formal valuation, laboratory report or definitive gemmological identification. Right to Refuse Service Gemstone Detective reserves the right to refuse or cancel a booking where a request falls outside the scope of the service or where conduct is abusive or inappropriate.
