Ethics & Mission

I've been working with gemstones all over the world since 2015, and one thing matters most to me: every stone should have a story you can trust. I care about sourcing them responsibly, treating the mining community and other people I meet along the way fairly, with kindness, and sharing my love for gemstones openly. This page is about the way I work and the values that guide everything I do. Nothing special, just honesty, care and a bit of adventure for anyone who loves gemstones as much as I do.

Mission

My mission is simple: to help people explore, understand and buy gemstones with confidence, knowing they have someone independent looking out for their interests.

I believe ethical gemstone sourcing begins with honesty, transparency and respect for the people behind every stone. From miners and cutters to traders and collectors, I value the relationships, skills and livelihoods that make this extraordinary industry possible.

Through my work, I aim to make gemstone buying more transparent, share the knowledge I've gained in the field and help clients make informed decisions. That means asking the right questions, recognising what can and cannot be verified, and never making promises I cannot substantiate.

For me, it's about more than finding beautiful gemstones. It's about doing things properly, treating people fairly and building trust along the way.

Vision

My vision is a gem trade where ethics and authenticity are the norm, not the exception. I hope to show that high-quality gemstones can be sourced responsibly, without compromising people or the planet. I want my work to make it easier for collectors and enthusiasts to choose stones they can trust, and for miners and artisans to feel respected and valued. Over time, I hope this approach helps shift the industry towards transparency and responsibility, where each gemstone tells a story of care, skill, and integrity, and where trust is as natural as beauty.

How I Put My Values into Practice

Independent judgement

My responsibility is to give you an informed, impartial opinion. I assess gemstones on their individual merits, not simply on what a seller tells me. I believe you deserve clear advice, including knowing when I have reservations about a stone.

Honest disclosure

Treatments, quality, origin and laboratory reports can all influence a gemstone's value. I explain what I can establish through examination, what may require specialist testing and what cannot be confirmed with certainty.

Responsible sourcing

I've spent years meeting miners, cutters and traders and learning about the realities of their work. I believe in treating people fairly, respecting their livelihoods and asking thoughtful questions about where gemstones come from. I don't make ethical or traceability claims that I cannot substantiate.

Transparency and trust

I believe you should understand the basis of my advice, including any relevant commercial relationships or fees. My aim is to help you make informed decisions without pressure, unrealistic promises or unnecessary jargon.

Respect for the people behind the gemstones

A gemstone's journey involves far more than its beauty. From the miner who discovers it to the cutter who brings out its potential, I value the knowledge, skill and livelihoods of the people who make this industry possible.

Finally...my client is the only person who pays me. I do not accept commissions, referral fees or other payments from gemstone sellers.

Every gemstone deserves careful examination, honest answers and
independent judgement.
